SoFi raised HYSA to 4.55% APY this morning — I moved another $15k from Marcus to lock it in
SoFi raised their HYSA to 4.55% APY this morning (July 22). Marcus is still 4.30%. On $15k that's a $37.50/year difference — small, but the move took 8 minutes and the money lands tomorrow, so the opportunity cost of doing nothing was higher than the 8 minutes I spent.
This is my 3rd HYSA switch in 6 months (March: Marcus 4.30%, July 18: SoFi 4.50%, now 4.55%). I've learned the ACH timing: if I do an ACH push from Marcus (not a pull from SoFi), the money lands same-day for a $0.25 fee. ACH pull takes 1-3 business days. My new cash allocation: $25k in SoFi HYSA (4.55%), $15k in Marcus (4.30%, waiting for next hike to move), $40k in VTI (DCA-on-red-days rule).
